The Mitchell School District established the Mitchell Career & Technical Education Academy (MCTEA) in August 2012. MCTEA provides rigorous hands-on learning opportunities for high school students from Mitchell and surrounding school districts.
Career & Technical Education (CTE) gives students an opportunity to work and learn in a laboratory setting where they utilize their skills and knowledge to solve problems, work as a team on projects, and prepare for a high-tech, high-skill workplace of the 21st century.
The academy is a partnership between Mitchell High School and Mitchell Technical Institute, and it offers courses that range from introductory to highly skilled. Students are able to earn high school, technical institute and college credit through dual and concurrent credit opportunities.
